I live in an apartment building overlooking a waterfront, a waterfront walkway, and a park.

Just now, on a patio somewhere above mine, some unseen person yelled down to another unseen person, “Hey! Hey! What are you kicking?”

A moment of silence followed.

“Are you kicking…air?”
