These pressures are unfair for young guys. Housing costs continue to rise, and this is a social norm that could definitely use an update. I don’t think, unfortunately, that it can really be reasoned through. So long as some men can and do afford their own homes, the ones who can’t will be viewed as being inferior. It certainly shouldn’t be that way, but I don’t see human nature changing any time soon.

I fully agree with the article, though, on a purely intellectual level, that a young man living at home shouldn’t be a marker of poor character or something of that sort. At this point, it’s just a smart move for a lot of people.
