Sorry, but I don’t understand the significance of this beyond something that is intellectually fascinating. People have been profiling the psychological makeup of serial killers for a long time. Adding technology to it to narrow down the traits is interesting stuff, but I don’t see how this is revolutionary or even practically applicable, which also apparently the police fail to see.

In a free society, police can’t start shaking down every “Middle Eastern gay man who works landscaping” or whatever other category is determined. Sad and frustrating as it is, police still have to wait for some kind of solid evidence. That’s the price of living in a relatively free society.

This stuff is very interesting. Don’t get me wrong. I just don’t see how this is anything revolutionary.
