I’ve been noticing Medium is more and more being overrun by political content, much of it really low quality, and the rest being so mediocre as to add little to nothing to any of the topics.

I don’t let it bother me much because I’m just so accustomed to everyone being obsessed with politics that I guess I kind of expected it.

Interesting thing is, I think Medium’s model would work great for creative-writing only site showcasing exclusively fiction and creative nonfiction. Unfortunately, I have neither the resources or the tech acumen to make that a reality.

I also notice a decided bias to the political affiliation of the featured articles. I’m not a conservative, but I find it laughable when other liberals pretend that this bias isn’t nearly ubiquitous in media.

I just try to ignore the political deluge and all the hack writers pumping out their garbage political content. I enjoy the fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction on Medium.

Still, I see your point, LaMar, respect you for speaking in this environment, and agree that Medium’s sort of become a hypocritical joke in regards to the political stuff.

I guess I’m just so accustomed to hypocritical jokes these days that I tune it out.
