It’s a perpetually delicate balance to pursue and attain goals while also remembering to be happy to simply be alive and not get too caught up with the goal line that we forget the ground beneath our feet.

The best trick I learned for this is to start every morning thinking of at least three things I’m grateful for, and making sure at least one of them is something really small, simple, and free. That’s just the method I’ve learned to keep my head on right.
