I just mean that the psychedelic music scene remembered by history comes almost exclusively out of southern California, mainly L.A. and SF.

Grateful Dead, Doors, Jefferson Airplane, even the lesser known but formative acts like Quicksilver Messenger Service and the Charlatans all came out of Southern Cal.
