… it’s now considered mandatory. Sharing, connecting, being a part of the network was once a choice. Now, these activities are required to function in modern life, to take part in society, and — if we take Zuckerberg at his word — to help society progress in a meaningful way.
I don’t have a Facebook account. Used to. dropped it. I have a good job, lots of friends, a freelance writing side hustle…I’m happy and healthy. I’m not trying to cast shade on this article, but I feel like this dependence on Facebook is largely imaginary. I’ve noticed absolutely nothing negative from dropping it, and in fact will never step foot in that pisshole platform again.
