I agonized over a story…I consider is my magnum opus far as short fiction goes, and almost no one gives a shit about it.

At the same time, I wrote something in an about hour, pure stream of consciousness stuff, and people have responded really strongly to it.

I just chalk it up to the mysteries of art and creativity…I’ve read highly acclaimed musicians who felt their best songs were songs no one else cared bout, and who were totally baffled at the songs that were huge hits.

Bob Dylan, for instance, didn’t even want to reveal “Blind Willie McTell,” but it snuck out as a bootleg and is today considered by most hardcore dylan heads to be among his greatest songs ever written, perhaps his greatest.

Dylan wishes it’d never even gotten into the public.

Anyway long rant…just bummed out if you took my compliment negatively.

who the hell knows why some things work for some people more than others?
