Excellent piece, you WOW (I like that term).

But, I also must say I kind of snickered while I read it because I was imagining all the Righties reading it thinking “yea if only those stupid Lefties would see through their confirmation bias” and all the Lefties thinking “yea if only those stupid Righties could cure their confirmation bias.”

It’s kind of funny, really, this circular absurdity we live in.

ONe trick I attempt to at least mitigate the reflexive tendencies of my brain is to never react to anything I see or read for at least 24 hours, and to always look up a reasoned explanation of the opposing viewpoint.

I understand why people don’t like this sort of thinking, because it’s sort of strange to admit one’s own uncertainty. But, it’s how I try to do things.

I’m reading Robert Anton Wilson right now…he has some great insights into their brain issues and some potentially useful ways to approach life differently because of them.
