Exactly. I’d say in general word play I’d say it’s very much like Joyce, and one reviewer I found said that Lennon actually hadn’t read Joyce at that point but once shown Joyce said something like “yep that’s what I was shooting for” (badly paraphrased I found that snippet a couple weeks ago).
