I’ll let you know…but I’ve encountered similar challenges.

I think the only way I’ll fully commit to it is if I enact a plan to establish myself as a true crime writer with multiple high quality posts, and then go for a book deal.

Other than that, I agree that i’ts way too time consuming…it’s almost as bad as fiction. For me, anyway…fiction takes me a terribly long time to write.
