A Saga of Ducks

While hiking in Olympic National Forest, I watched this family of ducks swim through a pool and then fight some rapids. I don’t know what their motivation was, but the mother had a seriously difficult time getting the little ones up those falls. They were moving fast, and I think they have been trying to elude a predator, but I’m not sure.
I love the lighting I got in these pictures, so wanted to put them up here on Medium.
Once the ducks got out of the pool, I lost the lighting that gave that terrific green hue. I’ll include the remainder of the photos, though, just to show their perilous journey.
